چکیده

Hormonal contraception as a cause of cancer apper as to be unlikely. In fact, protective effects against ovarian and endometrial cancer have been documented. There are conflicting reports concerning the risks of liver, cervix and breast cancer. The possibly increased risks that have been recorded in some studies are not large enough to outweigh or demand changes in current practice. The responsibility to provide balanced information about oral contraception rests on clinicians. Time spent directly educating patients regarding the benefits and risks of these modalities is well spent time.
